Planting Seeds for Change
Cha cha cha chia!
Remember the chia pet craze?
I was obsessed with commercials when I was little, and I loved to sing the jingles! One commercial that came on all the time was for a chia pet. Despite nagging my Mom for one, I never got one as a kid. I finally got my husband a Homer Simpson chia pet years later. It did not magically grow like on the commercials!
These days, chia seeds are more popular to put in smoothies and acai bowls than they are as a gag gift. You can even make a fiber packed pudding with them. (I've made both disgusting and delicious versions of chocolate chia pudding. The key is to blend your ingredients-trust me!)
Garden Surprise!
Have you ever had a surprise plant pop up?
A beautiful mystery plant appeared in my garden. To my surprise, it was a chia plant. Isn't it pretty? Who knew it had little purple flowers and is in the mint family?
I forgot that I had poured some soaked chia seeds in the garden months ago, and boom, a beautiful plant!

You're always planting seeds
That got me thinking about how we plant all kinds of seeds in our lives.
Some we see the results of very quickly. Others, we plant, watch, wait, and sometimes worry a lot that they'll never come to be! Can you relate? (Check out "Mindfulness Magic" group hypnosis program to reduce worry and stress!)
Some, we plant and forget about, just like those chia seeds.
And when we least expect it, surprise!
There are things we can do to give the seeds we plant the best environment for successful growth.
For plants, the most important things we need to pay attention to are the water, light, soil, and nutrient requirements.
And no amount of effort, force or worry can make a seed grow in the wrong conditions.

Your mind is the most abundant garden you have
You're actions and results are highly driven by your mindset and beliefs.
Some key things that play a huge part in your health and wellness are nutrition, hydration, movement, relationships and mindset.
Mindset, in my opinion, is something that is very undervalued when it comes to health and wellness.
Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't- you're right."
Ever since you were born, your brain has been gathering information, creating programs or patterns, and predicting the future, based on your past experiences.
This is helpful in many different ways. It allows you to not have to deeply focus on how to do every little task throughout the day.
But this "automation" has a downside. It can get you in routines, patterns, and habits that you no longer want, that make you feel stuck.
Limiting beliefs are the weeds
Are there areas of your life where you've struggled to make a change, and it feels impossible?
Change can be hard. Maybe you feel like you're unable to make changes, like losing weight, quitting drinking, or eliminating junk food, because you've tried and not succeeded before.
Or you may want more confidence or more focus and less procrastinating. And since it's not something you've ever really had much of, it can feel unattainable.
Perhaps you planted the seeds for change in the wrong season, the wrong environment, or there's something missing.

Change doesn't have to be difficult
You can remove the weeds and make room for the flowers
When you remove old, unhelpful beliefs about yourself, you create space for more of what you want in your life.
And when you create the right mindset, it's like fertilizer, helping your desired changes and goals grow like magic!
Because you have this one life, so why not plant something beautiful?
